Our Story
Gourmet World Foods was created from a simple idea: quality European and Mediterranean gourmet pantry foods should be easier to find in Australia.
Many of the products we love most, from German rye breads, dumplings, mustards and pantry staples to Italian pasta, Spanish seafood, British preserves, French mustards, Swiss fondue and premium olive oils, are often difficult to find through mainstream retailers. Some are traditional everyday favourites in Europe. Others are specialty products made for people who appreciate better ingredients, authentic flavours and food with a clear sense of origin.
We started by sourcing products we genuinely believed deserved a place in Australian homes. Today, our range includes a mix of established European food brands, selected artisan producers and premium Australian gourmet products, all chosen for their quality, usefulness and appeal.

We work with a carefully selected network of producers, importers, and distributors who share our commitment to quality and authenticity. Where direct relationships exist, we prioritise them to ensure product integrity from origin to your door. Our sourcing approach rests on three core principles:
Provenance matters. We seek products made in their place of origin using traditional methods. Our German breads are baked in Germany. Our Italian pasta is made from heritage durum wheat, stone-milled in Italy. Our British preserves are crafted in small batches in the English countryside. Geography and tradition are not marketing, they are the foundation of flavour.

We select products because they bring something worthwhile to the pantry, whether that comes from a small producer, a family-owned maker or an established European brand with a long-standing reputation.
