Shipping Terms and Conditions for Cheese Orders

1. ABOUT GOURMET WORLD RANGE OF CHEESE:

All cheeses offered on Gourmet World are the hard type of Cheese. They are all firm and travel well, as they can be left unrefrigerated.

Temperature control of hard cheese is not needed for safety reasons, but to maintain the organoleptic quality of cheese. Hard cheeses can be unrefrigerated because they have a low moisture content and develop acidity during maturation. They are best aged and stored between 7 and 11 C degrees. However, it's better to store them in the refrigerator for longer preservation, within the produce drawer, which is usually slightly warmer than the rest of the fridge.

Some of the Hard Cheese you will find on Gourmet World are Parmigiano Reggiano, Grada Padano, aged Gouda, aged Cheddar, Pecorino Romano, Emmental or cured Manchego cheese.

2. AUSTRALIA WIDE SHIPPING METHOD FOR HARD CHEESE:

Gourmet World delivers Hard Cheese Australia wide from our place in Rockdale NSW 2216. We do not send cheese internationally.

With the aim of preserving hard cheese quality and longevity, we use only Australia Post Express Service by default to deliver all orders containing cheese.

AP Express Service provides "Next Day Deliveries" on a large number of territories throughout Australia as well as Saturday Deliveries on some metropolitan areas. Click here to learn more about AP Express Service average delivery times per region.

If your order contains both gourmet groceries and hard cheese, the only shipping service available is the Express Service and the total postage will be based on the total order volume, weight and destination.

For orders over $150 containing cheese, we offer a flat EXPRESS shipping rate of  A$14.

If you would like your order delivered with the Standard Service, just remove the Cheese products from your shopping cart and proceed to checkout with the rest of non-perishable gourmet products.

3. PACKING OF HARD CHEESE DURING TRANSPORT:

We use specific packing materials to ensure that the hard cheese will be well protected during transport and will arrive in great shape. We also use insulation materials to keep the cold chain as long as possible.

We recommend unpack, check and refrigerate your cheese order immediately upon arrival.

Unattended orders for long periods containing perishable products such as our hard cheese are the responsibility of the customer for any damages. Please note, we cannot provide refunds or replacements in any case of heat damage.

4. LOCAL DELIVERY ORDERS CONTAINING HARD CHEESE:

Gourmet World's general terms and conditions for local delivery orders apply also for orders containing hard cheese.

We provide our local delivery service FREE and there are no surcharges for orders containing hard cheese items.
